Natalie Foster
Licensed Professional Counselor
Focused trauma therapy to support your clients’ continued growth and healing.
Thank you for considering me as a resource for your clients. I know the therapeutic relationship you’ve built with a client is important, and referring someone for additional support is a decision that deserves care and consideration.
I offer EMDR intensives for adults who may benefit from focused time to work through trauma, attachment wounds, negative self-beliefs, or experiences that continue to affect their present lives.
Whether you’re looking for an EMDR-trained therapist to support a client’s existing treatment or exploring an intensive because your client feels stuck in a particular area, I welcome the opportunity to connect with you.
Areas of Focus & Clinical Fit
I specialize in trauma, attachment, relationships, and family-of-origin wounds with adults. My approach integrates EMDR, Post Induction Therapy (PIT), and other evidence-informed modalities to help clients understand the experiences and patterns that continue to shape their lives. I offer EMDR intensives for clients who would benefit from focused trauma work outside the traditional weekly therapy format.
I’m a particularly strong fit for clients who:
-
Have insight into their patterns but struggle to make lasting changes.
-
Have participated in therapy and made progress but continue to feel stuck in certain areas.
-
Carry deep shame, negative core beliefs, or wounds related to childhood and family relationships.
-
Find themselves repeating the same relationship patterns or struggling with attachment, trust, and boundaries.
-
Are high-achieving or high-functioning on the outside but internally struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, self-doubt, or feeling like they are never enough.
-
Have experienced trauma or difficult life experiences that continue to affect their emotional well-being, relationships, or sense of self.
-
Are navigating addiction, recovery, or the emotional impact of a loved one’s substance use.
-
Are working through grief, loss, or significant life transitions.
-
Want to integrate their Christian faith into the therapeutic process.
-
Are motivated to engage in deeper therapeutic work and open to exploring approaches beyond traditional talk therapy.
-
Would benefit from dedicated, extended time to focus on specific treatment goals rather than working exclusively in a weekly format.
My goal is to help clients move beyond simply understanding why they feel or behave a certain way and begin creating meaningful change in how they experience themselves, their relationships, and their lives. Each referral is considered individually, with attention to the client’s goals, clinical needs, and readiness for intensive work.
When You Might Consider an Intensive
You may be considering an intensive because your client has developed insight into their patterns but continues to struggle with the emotional impact of past experiences. Perhaps they would benefit from extended time to focus on a specific treatment goal, or you’re looking for an additional resource to complement the work you’re already doing together.
-
An EMDR intensive may be worth exploring for clients who:
-
Continue to experience distress related to past trauma or adverse experiences.
-
Notice attachment wounds or relationship patterns that feel difficult to change.
-
Struggle with negative beliefs about themselves despite ongoing therapeutic work.
-
Have made progress in therapy but feel stuck in a particular area.
-
Would benefit from a focused period of trauma processing outside the traditional weekly format.
Each client’s readiness and needs are different. I’m happy to consult with you about whether an intensive may be an appropriate fit before you make a referral.

Collaborative Care & Referrals
Many referrals come from therapists whose clients have made progress in weekly therapy but continue to feel stuck in certain areas. EMDR intensives offer an opportunity for clients to dedicate extended time to trauma processing while continuing their work with you. My goal is to provide focused, specialized support that complements your therapeutic relationship and the progress you’ve already made together.I value clear communication and collaborative care. I welcome the opportunity to connect by phone or email before a referral to discuss your client’s goals, explore whether an intensive may be a good fit, and coordinate care with the client’s consent. I’m happy to remain in communication throughout the process to support continuity of care and integration following the intensive.
EMDR Therapy Intensives
I offer extended EMDR sessions for adults who would benefit from focused time to work through unresolved trauma, attachment wounds, negative core beliefs, and experiences that continue to affect their present lives. Intensives may be particularly helpful for clients who have developed insight through traditional therapy but continue to experience persistent emotional responses, recurring relational patterns, or a sense of being stuck. The extended format allows dedicated time for preparation, processing, and integration, with treatment tailored to each client’s needs, goals, and readiness.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do clients need to stop seeing their current therapist?
No. An EMDR intensive can be considered alongside ongoing therapy when clinically appropriate. I encourage thoughtful coordination with the client’s primary therapist, with the client’s consent, to support continuity of care.
How soon can my client get scheduled?
I prioritize referrals for EMDR intensives and can typically get clients scheduled within one to two weeks, depending on availability. I understand that timing matters when a client is ready to engage in focused therapeutic work, and I strive to make the referral process timely and straightforward.
How do I know whether my client is a good fit?
A consultation can help us explore the client’s goals, history, current stability, support system, and readiness for extended trauma-focused work. Not every client or treatment concern is suited to an intensive, and the decision is made on an individual basis.
How do we support the client after the intensive?
The work doesn’t end when the intensive is over. Clients may benefit from continued sessions with their primary therapist to process their experience, integrate new insights, and navigate any changes that emerge. With the client’s consent, I welcome collaboration to help ensure a thoughtful transition back into ongoing care.
Can I consult with you before making a referral?
Absolutely. If you’re unsure whether an intensive is appropriate for a particular client, I welcome the opportunity to discuss the general fit, potential goals, and considerations for collaborative care, while respecting confidentiality and obtaining appropriate consent.
